NURSERY BED PREPARATION

Site Selection and Preparation

1. Well drained loam soil is recommended

2.It should be near a water source for watering

3. Avoid steep slopes which can cause erosion

4. Establish a nursery in full sunlight

5. Create a fine tilth

Sowing

1. Make drills across the bed

2. Thinly drill your seeds within the drills and cover lightly

3. Water the bed until it is well soaked

4. Continue to water the bed early in the morning or late evening

5. Ensure crop rotations to avoid disease and pest build up
